ENCORE partners join EWTEC 2021 in search of collaborative opportunities

From 5th to 9th September 2021, the University of Plymouth is hosting the 14th European Wave and Tidal Energy Conference (EWTEC), welcoming the wave and tidal community in the heart of the South West of England.

EWTEC provides a biennial forum for those at the forefront of research and technology development in the marine energy sector where they meet, interact, present their latest knowledge, debate new ideas and issues pertinent to wave and tidal energy conversion. EWTEC thus provides attendees with an unparalleled forum for knowledge transfer and debate at the cutting edge of marine renewable energy technology.

During this year’s hybrid edition of EWTEC, ENCORE technology developers and service providers will participate with paper presentations and a dedicated side event.

On Tuesday 7th at 15:30, Mr. Anton Schaap (Dutch Marine Energy Centre) will present the paper “How certification accelerates commercial uptake of marine energy solutions”, written by ENCORE lead partner Peter Scheijgrond from MET-Support and co-authored by all project partners.

During an evening event on Wednesday 8th (17:00 – 18:30), Nithian Vejayan from EMEC will provide an overview of ENCORE achievements and outputs, followed by a presentation of opportunities for future innovation from each technology developer. As developers look to pursue further de-risking and cost-optimising innovations to enhance their technology and drive it towards commerciality, they hope that collaborative projects can be realised with the sector.
